Our friends over at the PiliSkapinas blog, has this to say about last month's Moonhop! Snubnose reunion, which we ably supported. The return of Philippine skinhead reggae pioneers, Snubnose on stage.. was that the last time we'll ever hear from them? or are the boys up to something? Read all about it in the full article here. It seems a full-on Ska return is happening not only in Manila, but in known ska-reggae hotbeds outside the capital as well, Cebu for one has regular shows lined-up in the coming months. While were at it, a big ska-reggae weekend is happening on October 19 and 20.
October 19 will see PiliSkapinas hold another SKAMAX at The Spot in Monumento, with upcoming bands Rude Diments, and Nyte In Tunisia, yet another Skamax debutante The Ewoks, and neo-trad ska styled The Monsoons. Shuffle Union is also on the bill as well as returning rudeboys of Taguig, Rocket Punch! The new groups are very interesting to see, and have great promise to be future scene regulars. And with only a night's rest, everyone is expected to be back on their feet and at the Mall of Asia the next day for the 3rd Mall of Asia Ska Reggae Festival on October 20 happening at the MoA Veranda.
